Original printed catalog text: In respect to honor a sort of an appropriated approach to both, Rothko and Mondrian;

Original printed catalog text: I started with the basic idea in creating a rich in-depth background base, while at the same time wanting to do so in a respectful and coherent way.

Original printed catalog text: As for wanting to morph Mondrian’s and Rothko’s artistic essence into a personal appropriation of them - flashes of ideas rushed into my thoughts.

Original printed catalog text: I quickly began to draw the shapes lightly with a gray color pencil and continued so until satisfied with the result as I carried on toward making progress spontaneous and fast.

Original printed catalog text: As I thought about what has served me well are things I’ve heard from people who run galleries - as well as art historians whose advice I had sought; they would say to me: “don’t be afraid to make mistakes”
